Today, Rajnath Singh, the defense minister, received the water from rivers, streams, and oceans from 115 countries at his house located in Akbar Road. Champat Rai, the general secretary of Shree Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra, along with ambassadors and high commissioners from various countries such as Denmark, Fiji, and Nigeria, were also present during the process.
The water was collected by NGO Delhi Study Circle under the supervision of Vijay Jolly. Rajnath Singh praised the procurement of the water, and termed it as an “innovative thinking.” He said that collecting water from all the countries in the world reflects the idea behind Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
Singh added that collecting water from 115 countries is an excellent work, and he hopes water can be collected from the remaining 77 countries by the time the construction of Ram Mandir is completed. The defence minister also said that the water will be used for doing ‘Jalabhishek’ of Ram Lala.
Furthermore, Rajnath Singh stated that building the Ram temple is a moment of pride for everyone, and he added that the Indian culture is extremely rich and there is no discrimination in India based on caste, creed, and religion.
Rai called the move a “historic moment” and said that in ‘Saptasagar’, a place located in Ayodhya, there is a belief that during the coronation of Lord Ram in Treta Yuga, water was brought from all oceans of the world. He added that during the construction of the temple at his birthplace, the same process is being repeated, so it is a sentimental issue for him.
Vijay Jolly stated that people from all religions in different countries have helped them in collecting water from their counties, and he added that the water has been placed inside 115 small pots indicating their respective countries.
