In the political space of UP in the run up to the 2022 assembly elections, AAP has been creating ripples. In his speech, Kejriwal emphasized all those issues that have been of concern to farmers in the UP region close to Delhi where the AAP is in power. Delhi CM and party chief, Arvind Kejriwal tried to strike a chord with the farmers at his party’s maiden Kisan Mahapanchayat in Meerut. Kejriwal says that he is the younger brother to all the farmers and promises to find a solution to their sorrows.
Reportedly, the party has been emphasizing their success in Delhi and believes that protest by farmers’ could be an opportunity to connect with the commoners in the state. During his speech to the farmers and others, he also has bought up the issue of sugarcane payment arrears. The party chief further took a jibe at the Centre on the increasing fuel prices and cooking gas cylinders.
