Since yesterday, the Second Phase of the vaccination drive has started in India. On the second day of the second phase, actor turned politician Kamal Haasan takes Covid vaccine shot in Chennai.
As per reports, the Makkal Needhi Maiam announced that it will contest the upcoming elections in Tamil Nadu from a Chennai seat. On Wednesday, he will begin his campaign. A host of big names in the second phase got vaccinated. On Monday, day 1, PM Modi, Amit Shah, S Jaishankar got vaccinated. Today Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan too received the first jab of Covid vaccine at the Delhi Heart and Lung Institute. The Union Ministers’ wife also took the first shot.
The Indian cricket team’s head coach Ravi Shastri also received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at a city hospital in Ahmedabad. India started the largest vaccination drive on January 16. In Phase 1, healthcare and frontline workers were allowed to take the vaccine. In Phase 2, people above 60 and 45 with co-morbidities are allowed to take the vaccine.
