Today, Afghanistan after receiving 5 lakh covid vaccine thanked India for providing assistance to the war-ravaged nation. Afghan Foreign Minister Mohammed Haneef Atmar described the assistance provided by the largest vaccine producing nation as a clear sign of “generosity and commitment” towards the strong partnership between India and Afghanistan.
The officials said that it is a sign of gift and aid sent to the people of Afghanistan. Atmar tweeted his heartfelt gratitude to the government of India and people as well as his Indian counterpart S Jaishankar for providing the assistance and expressed his ‘profound gratitude’ for sending the consignment and helping Afghanistan to curb the spread.
The order sent by India was received from Charge d’Affaires of the Indian embassy in Kabul Raghuram S by Afghanistan’s acting Minister of Public Health Waheed Majroh. Air India airlifted the vaccine consignment to Kabul. India is the first nation to respond to deliver COVID-19 vaccines to Afghanistan, according to the Indian embassy in Kabul.
