Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a three-day visit to Assam. During the visit, he is scheduled to attend the Himanta Biswa Sarma led government’s first anniversary celebrations and will travel to the India-Bangladesh border. On Sunday, Amit Shah was received at Guwahati airport by CM Sarma and other senior state BJP leaders.
The chief minister tweeted, “Honoured to receive Adarniya HM Shri @AmitShah Ji at LGBI Airport, Guwahati. Adarniya Griha Mantri ji will attend several events over the next two days in Assam.” The Union Home Minister will also visit the Mankachar border outpost of the BSF on Monday morning.
Amit Shah will also lay the foundation and participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for CENWOSTO-II (Central Workshop and Stores) for Central Armed Paramilitary Force (CAPF) at Kelenchi in the Tamulpur district. Later, he will inaugurate the Census office at Amingaon in Kamrup district, and Superspeciality Cardiothoracic and Neurosciences Centre at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital in the evening.
On Tuesday, he is scheduled to bestow the ‘President’s colour’ to Assam Police at a ceremony in Guwahati, and will also interact with the officers and personnel of the force. He will also address a public rally to celebrate the completion of one year in office of the Sarma led state government. He will return to Delhi on Tuesday evening.
