HIGHLIGHTS:

Union home minister Amit Shah will visit Uttar Pradesh on Friday, keeping in mind the upcoming elections of the state. In his two-day visit to UP, the home minister will hold meetings with CM Yogi Adityanath and other BJP leaders in order to discuss the strategy of the upcoming assembly elections. Shah is also scheduled to take part in the Akhil Bharatiya Rajsabha Sammelan which will be held in Varanasi, during his tour.

Amit Shah will be visiting several parts of Uttar Pradesh, including Varanasi, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur and Basti. Shah will be inaugurating the Sansad Khel Mahakumbh at the Amar Shaheed Satyavaan Singh Sports Stadium which is located in Basti, on November 13. The meeting will witness the participation of Yogi Adityanath and state BJP head Swatantra Dev Singh.

According to media sources, “the detailed meeting could discuss how the campaign should run, what the preparations are and the leaders will also receive guidance from Amit Shah who has a long experience of handling elections in UP.” The ‘Parivartan Yatras’ of party leaders will be conducted by the BJP from the month of December.

During his visit, the home minister will be laying the foundation stone of a university in Azamgarh. The last UP assembly elections took place in 2017 and its term will be expiring on May 14.
