New Delhi: On the 100th death anniversary of great freedom fighter Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, the Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah addressed his grandeur and dedication to sacrifice his whole life for India’s freedom. Shah presented the speech at the webinar organized by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) for paying homage to Lokmanya Tilak.
Remembering his extraordinary works, Amit Shah said that Lokmanya Tilak was a man who always opposed untouchability and began a massive movement to bring the society together, which was segregated on the basis of caste and sects. Shah also tweeted in the morning and said, “Tilak Ji has an incomparable contribution to the freedom movement, dedicating every moment of his life to the nation and creating an ideological generation of revolutionaries.”
Tilak’s powerful and stirring statement “Swaraj is my birthright and I shall have it” that he uttered in 1916 for which he devoted his life that will always remain engraved in the golden history. In the speech, the honourable Home Minister also urged people, especially youngsters to go through the life history of our great Tilak. This will help everyone to find a way in one’s life and direct to fulfil their target.
