As stated by the health ministry data of Sunday, the Centre has distributed at least 419 million Covid vaccination pills across the country. However, no new Covid-19 deaths were reported in Delhi on Sunday which is probably the first time after March 2 that the pandemic has claimed a life in the capital city.
Reports suggest that at 8 a.m. on Sunday, the states and union territories had received 419,968,590 doses. There were 394,297,344 doses consumed in total, including wastages. The states/UTs and private hospitals still have a total of 25,671,246 balance and unused vaccination doses. A total of 1,575,140 doses are in the works.
Yet, till Saturday night, India had given 404,931,715 injections to over 321.9 million individuals. According to figures from the Union health ministry, over 83 million individuals have been fully vaccinated who received both doses as of July 18, while over 238.9 million have only received one shot.
Days after Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh cancelled the holy pilgrimage owing to Covid-19 fears, Delhi too cancelled the Kanwar Yatra.
In the same time span, the Union ministry of health and family welfare (MoHFW) said that there were 38,660 new recoveries and 499 fatalities, bringing the total number of recovered people to 30,308,456 and the death toll to 414,108, respectively. Covid-19’s recovery rate has already reached 97.31%.
