On Wednesday, Aryan Khan, son of Shah Rukh Khan’s bail plea was rejected by the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS). Khan will continue to remain in custody ahead of his connections with the Mumbai cruise drug case. Aryan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on October 2, after which he was sent to the Arthur Road jail on October 7.

The 23-year-old’s co arrestees Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha’s pleas were also rejected by the court. A total of eight people have been accused and held by the NCB for association with a drug case. The arrests were conducted after the central agency raided Cordelia – a Goa-bound ship, earlier this month. Khan, Merchant and Dhamecha stand to be among the accused who were arrested from the ship.

A tremendous hubbub was created after the arrests as Sameer Wankhede, the zonal director of the NCB accused two Mumbai police personnel of tapping his movements. Last week, Wankhede’s security was strengthened after he met Maharashtra director general of police (DGP) Sanjay Pandey.
