Azerbaijan President vowed to take revenge against Armenia after shelling on Ganja, the country’s second-largest city. Reportedly, thirteen civilians have been killed and more than 40 people injured in the early hours of the missile attack.
The Azerbaijani prosecutor general’s office claimed that the missile roamed around leveled a row of residents, killing and badly injuring people in a sharp escalation of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Ilham Aliyev said that Azerbaijan’s army will strike them hard and take revenge on the battlefield.
The early attack that had seen a second missile strike at Ganja and the consecutive third in the nearby strategic city of Mingecevir came much after the forces of Azerbaijan has forced out the Armenian ethnic separatist region’s capital Stepanakert. It has further escalated a resurgence of international efforts of clashes between Christian Armenians and Muslim Azerbaijanis.
The destructive and heart-wrenching attack came just after six days of another missile attack on another residential area of the city, which reported citizens off 300.000, killing 10 and many wounded.
The military of Nagorno-Karabakh stated that the Azerbaijani troops doubled their attacks upfront, shelling the nearby town of Susi and Stepanakert. A statement released by the Armenian government claimed that the separatists carried out equivalent operations to stop adversary fire.
By providing no immediate details about the attack at Mingecevir the defense minister stated that the city had come under fire. The conflict which is going on for decades erupted on September 27, killing more than 700 people. It is claimed that the current escalation is the deadliest and longest since that six-year conflict.
