The Central Bureau of Investigation is probing the post-poll violence in West Bengal has filed the fourth charge sheet related to the issue. Sources claimed that the charge sheet has been filed at Krishnanagar court in Nadia district.
The investigation agency has filed three charge sheets in different courts in connection with incidents that happened in Bhatpara in North 24 Parganas, and Nalhati and Rampurhat in Birbhum district.
Talking to the media in detail, an official mentioned that the charge sheet is related to the killing of a BJP worker allegedly by Trinamool Congress members. In addition, the charge sheet contains the names of two accused allegedly involved in the murder of the BJP worker after the assembly election results were announced on May 2.
Last month, the Calcutta HC had ordered the CBI to probe the post-poll violence cases. Till now, 34 FIRs have been lodged in connection with the post-poll violence. All these 34 FIRs are in connection with murders and other heinous crimes perpetrated after the election results were announced.
