- The immovable property of Rs. 1.45 Crore possessed by Brajesh Thakur, the accused of the Muzzafarpur home abuse case is under ED`s cease.
- The shelter home is located in Delhi`s Palam area and it is under his wife`s name- Asha Thakur.
- The Home Shelter was run by NGO Seva Sankalp Evam Vikash Samiti under Brajesh Thakur`s management.
- The Enforcement Directorate charged Brajesh Thakur for misusing the funds provided by the Government for the shelter`s development.
The Enforcement Directorate ceased the immovable property that belonged to Brajesh Thakur on Wednesday. Brajesh Thakur is the main accuse of the Muzzafarpur Home Abuse Case. ED informed that the Shelter Home was under the name of Thakur`s wife and was run by an NGO Seva Sankalp Evam Vikash Samiti under Thakur’s management. The property is located in Delhi’s Palam area.
The Enforcement Directorate stated that a probe came to the conclusion that girls in the Muzzafarpur shelter home were treated harshly and few were sexually abused. The grants provided by the Government were misappropriated by Brajesh Thakur. A sum of Rs. 7.45 granted in the NGO`s name was extracted by Thakur and used for investment and son`s medical education purpose.
The further investigation reported that 34 girls were sexually harassed in the shelter home. The CBI found that members of the NGO are closely associated with politicians and bureaucrats and in 2018 the Central body file a charge sheet against 21 accused including Thakur.
