The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) issued a three-line whip to its members in the Rajya Sabha. The party ordered its members to be present in the House when the winter session of Parliament begins on November 29.
As per the whip, it clearly stated that the BJP members have to remain present to support the government in an important business that will be undertaken for discussion and passage. The decision will take place on Monday. According to sources, the Centre is likely to introduce a bill to repeal the three farm laws on the first day of the winter session.
Last week on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of Guru Purab had announced that the government had decided to repeal the three controversial farm laws. Announcing his decision, he cited that the Centre had failed to explain the benefits of the legislation to a few people. Back on Wednesday, the Cabinet had approved to repeal the laws that triggered wide protest across the nation.
