Today, Union Minister Amit Shah addressed a rally at Tehatta, West Bengal ahead of the next phase of assembly polls in the state. He lashed out at the TMC-Supremo Mamata Banerjee for not granting citizenship to the Matuas and Namshundras. “Didi has said that till she is in power, she will never grant citizenship to these communities,” he added.
Meanwhile, the BJP leader assured that once the BJP comes to power in Bengal, it would provide citizenship to all these communities under the CAA. Shah condemned after reviewing the condition of the refugees in Bengal who have resided in the state for more than 70 years. He ensured that the BJP would make a special Rs. 1000 crore fund for these refugees under the CAA.
Addressing the public, Shah urged the need to stop infiltrators from entering Bengal. He outlined that the infiltration not only imposes a threat to Bengal but to the nation as well. “The infiltrators will snatch away the jobs of the youth along with the food grain which will have a huge impact on the country,” he added.
In the meeting, he also pointed out and mocked at the Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi, and termed him as a ‘Tourist Leader’. He slammed Gandhi for not conducting a single rally in Bengal. Shah further reiterated the DNA of the BJP, where the D stands for ‘Development’, N for ‘Nationalism’, and A for ‘AatmaNirbhar Bharat’.
Amit Shah expressed his confidence that his party BJP will win the assembly polls in Bengal. “On May 2, we will bid farewell to Didi and the people of Bengal will witness a Sonar Bangla,” he added.
