The CBI has filed a charge-sheet against the Principal of the prestigious National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, before the court in Pune. Officials on Wednesday said that the alleged, Om Prakash Shukla has been accused of making false claims about his teaching experience in his application to the Union Public Service Commission 12 years ago.
A case was registered in 2018 against him & others on the allegations of fraudulent appointments to various posts of civilian faculties at NDA on which was based on exaggerated claims in research and teaching experience and API scores.
Searches were carried out by the agency on the premises of the accused on June 6, 2018. The officials said that further search and investigation led to the recovery of incriminating documents. The agency in its earlier charge-sheet filed in Pune stated that Shukla had made false statements about his teaching and research experience to the UPSC.
Investigation revealed that this was on the basis of which he was appointed as Economics Professor in NDA in 2007-08 and later was appointed as Principal of the NDA in 2011. He was thereby accused of cheating the Defence Ministry, said the CBI Spokesperson RK Gaur.
