Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal through his social media handle thanked the Central Government for providing Delhi with the added quota for oxygen which was requested earlier. Arvind Kejriwal who raised the issue of increasing the quota for the national capital, tweeted on Wednesday saying that they are grateful to the Centre for fulling this essential requirement.
“Central govt has increased Delhi’s quota of Oxygen. We are very grateful to the Centre for this,” the tweet read. CM Kejriwal on Tuesday urged the Centre to provide medical oxygen to Delhi. While Manish Sisodiya said, that the city will face chaos if the stocks are not replenished by Wednesday.
Previously Kejriwal tweeted, “serious oxygen crisis persists in Delhi.” He termed the shortage of oxygen as an “emergency”. In a letter to Union Minister of Commerce and Industries Piyush Goyal, Kejriwal sought his intervention.
India continues to fight against the ever-rising surge of the Corona Pandemic. The Capital city, Delhi has announced a lockdown to curb and control the snowball- effect situation.
Prime Minister, Narendra Modi while addressing the people on Tuesday asked people to remain aware and prepared as the second wave of corona hits the country. He asked the State Governments to consider lockdown as the last resort, for controlling the Covid-19 cases.
