Academy Award-winning actor, Emma Stone has suggested that Disney character ‘Ursula’ should also get an origin movie like “Cruella.” Stone is portraying the iconic villain Cruella de Vil in Disney’s new film ‘Cruella’.
In an interview, the ‘Cruella’ star cast was sharing their views on which Disney Villain would like to see on the big screen origin movie.
In the same interview, Emma shared that she is looking forward to watching “Ursula” on the big screen, who will be portrayed by Melissa McCarthy in the upcoming live-action adaptation “The Little Adaptation.”
She joked that Ursula’s trauma could come from having to continuously experience an octopus’ worst nightmare, saying, “The parents keep giving her a shirt that only has four arms. They really mess her up with that from a very early age, so she’s constantly trying to fit two arms into each hole. They would really mess you up, would it?”
Kirby Howell-Baptiste who played Anita “Tattletale” Darling, Estella’s childhood friend, and a gossip columnist, also agreed that Ursula’s character needs her own origin story. She said that she is eager to know why Ursula is so mean. Adding that the character is also highly misunderstood.
The actress also revealed that she had a similar opinion for “Scar” from Lion King. Cruella the Disney movie is directed by Craig Gillespie from a screenplay by Dana Fox and Tony McNamara and the story is scripted by Aline Brosh McKenna and Kelly Marcel and Steve Zissis.
The film is produced by Andrew Gunn, Marc Platt, and Kristin Burr with Emma, Michelle Wright, Jared LeBoff, and Glen Close are the Executive Producers of the film.
