- Donald Trump disclosed his plans to introduce his own social networking platform named “TRUTH Social”
- The platform will be owned by Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG)
- Earlier, Trump was banned from Twitter and Facebook
On Wednesday, former US President Donald Trump disclosed his plans to introduce his own social networking platform named “TRUTH Social”. The networking platform is likely to commence its beta launch for “invited guests” in the coming month.
The platform will be owned by Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), which aims to initiate a subscription video-on-demand service. The group affirmed in a statement that it will feature “non-woke” entertainment programming.
In the statement, Donald Trump expressed, “I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech. We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced. This is unacceptable.”
Earlier, Trump was banned from Twitter and Facebook in view of the Capitol insurrection held by his supporters on January 6, 2021. The social media networks blamed him for inciting the mob that ransacked Congress on January 6. Following this, he has been looking for ways to regain his networking platforms and followers. The former president was also banned from Instagram and YouTube and Snapchat.
