In the city of Maharashtra, Mumbai, the First Information Report was registered against B-Town actor Vivek Oberoi on Friday, for riding a motorbike with his wife Priyanka Alva Oberoi on Valentine’s Day without wearing a mask. 

In the Country, and Maharashtra Covid19 cases are rising, due to which city administration had on Thursday warned to prosecute those who violate the mandate mask rule. According to an official, the case was registered against the actor at Juhu Police Station. The actor had shared the video on his Social media handle, where was witnessed riding a bike with his wife without a mask. 

The official stated that the FIR was registered against Vivek Oberoi under IPC sections 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) and269 (Negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) along with provisions of the Maharashtra COVID -19 Precautionary Measures 2020 and the Motor Vehicles Act. The official added, a fine of Rs. 500 was also imposed on him for not wearing a helmet while riding the bike. Under IPC section 188 and 269, an offender can be punished with up to six months of imprisonment or fine, or both.
