The G20 Summit hosted by Saudi Arabia initiated efforts to tackle the worst-hit pandemic and the worst global recession in decades. The campaigners in the two-day meet criticized the G20’s inadequate response to the crippling economic crisis amid the Covid pandemic. As international efforts intensify for a large-scale roll-out of the developing vaccines, the world leaders huddled virtually after successful results in trials.

They further hurdled as calls grow for G20 nations to invest a $4.5 billion funds which are coming shortly. The summit will be digital diplomacy for the opportunist for one-on-one engagements between world leaders. With sources close to the organizers, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman will preside over the meeting, talking about climate change.

Supposedly, the leaders expected to make speeches are German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Trump will also be participating in the meet, while a briefing on Saturday will be held by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, ahead of the summit said that she hoped the US will adopt a more multilateralist stance under Biden.
