On Tuesday, a helicopter crashed in the Shiv Ghar Dhar area of Udahampur district in Jammu and Kashmir. A senior police officer revealed that the initial reports suggested that it was an Army chopper. In the incident, two army pilots were killed at the hills.
According to reports, a search team has been hurried to the accident spot. However, it would require over an hour to reach the place. DIG, Udhampur Reasi Range Suleman Choudhary noted, “We got information and dispatched a police team towards the Shiv Garh Dhar.”
Reportedly, three personnel survived injuries caused due to the crash. However, one of them is in serious condition. They were rushed to the hospital. Locals carried out the rescue operations and evacuated the injured men from a deep gorge.
The Senior police officer cited that the chopper either crashed or crash-landed on a hill. He mentioned, “Search parties have been rushed to the area, but it will take around one and a half hours to reach there by foot. Dense fog in the area is making it difficult for the searchers to pinpoint the exact location.”
Suleman Choudhary also remarked that due to the excess fog it was yet to be clearly identified where the helicopter crashed or crash-landed.
