On Thursday, an Indian Air Force trainer aircraft collapsed in the Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh. Manoj Kumar Singh, Bhind superintendent informed that the pilot has been injured in the accident but is safe.

A statement issued by Indian Air Force reads, “An IAF Mirage 2000 aircraft experienced a technical malfunction during a training sortie in the central sector this morning. This pilot ejected safely. An inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident.”

A video of the accident spot displayed the wreckage of the aircraft. Smoke could be seen billowing from the debris of the trainer jet half-buried in the field. Locals assembled around the venue heard the sound of an explosion, as per reports.

Air Force officials and Bhind police hurried to the spot when they received the information. The area has been isolated to disperse the crowd.
