Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi cited that a political party was experiencing fever soon after it heard India surpassed 2.5 crores in administering COVID-19 vaccines in a single day. However, he did not mention the name of any party.
PM Modi while interacting with healthcare workers and vaccine beneficiaries of Goa, lauded Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for his effort. He was congratulated by the PM for achieving 100 percent vaccination of the adult population in the state. “Goa is a state that strengthens the spirit of #EkBharatShreshthaBharat. Goa’s achievement of administering 100 percent of the first dose of vaccination is a moment of pride for all of us,” said PM Modi.
The Prime Minister mentioned that the state’s vaccine wastage prevention model will help other parts of the country. “Goa is playing a key role in the success of the world’s largest and fastest vaccination drive,” he added. He further appreciated the efforts of all the medical facilities and fraternity who helped to achieve the target.
Yesterday, in the CoWIN dashboard, more than 15 lakh vaccinations were administered every hour, i.e., 26,000 vaccinations every minute. India in the last 24 hours administered a 2.5 crore vaccine. He said it was an unforgettable and emotional moment for him as over 2.50 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses were administered in the country on his birthday.
