Today, the data of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare cited that India in the last 24 hours reported 31,443 fresh COVID-19 cases pushing the total toll of COVID-19 cases to 30,907,282.

The number of cases recorded is the lowest in 118 days. Despite the reduction in cases, there has been a slight surge in the daily mortality rate. In the last 24 hours, 2,020 fresh fatalities have been recorded.

According to the data, the active cases have shown a downward trajectory, and comprise only 1.46 percent of the total infections. However, the National COVID-19 Recovery Rate has increased to 97.28 percent. The number of people who recovered from the deadly disease increased to 3,00,63,720.

The officials informed that more than 39.46 crores of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the nation. “More than 1.91 crore balance and unutilized doses still available with States/UTs and private hospitals to be administered,” said the officials.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) informed that in the last 24 hours, it conducted 17,40,325 tests. Till date, the nation has conducted 43,40,58,138 tests.
