India has achieved a major milestone in reaching over 9 crores mark in the cumulative vaccination drive throughout the nation, in a team effort of the whole country to overcome the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Continuing with its largest vaccination drive, 30 lakhs vaccination doses were administered in the last 24 hours which added up to the final tally. With an average of around 34 lakhs doses in a day, India is on the top of the global tally in the administration of vaccines. The nation commenced its journey for the largest vaccination drive on 16 of January this year with vaccination of Health workers.

In the second phase, frontline workers were vaccinated from 2nd February and later in the third phase which started from 1 of March citizens of over 60 years and citizens with comorbidities aged over 45 were vaccinated.

The course of Vaccination was expanded from the beginning of this month under the current phase when everyone above the age of 45 is being vaccinated.

According to Health Ministry, India’s daily number of cases rose to 1,26,789. Ten states namely Maharashtra, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Kerala have observed a steeping rise in the daily number of fresh cases in the country.
