On Saturday, India lodged 2,858 fresh cases of COVID-19 and 11 more fatalities, as per government data. The overall caseload stands at 4,31,19,112 and the death toll has increased to 5,24,201.
The country’s active caseload is at 18,096 with a decline of 508 COVID cases. Nearly 3355 fresh recoveries were lodged in the past 24 hours. With this, the total number of recoveries from COVID-19 has increased to 4,25,76,815. The recovery rate stands at 98.74%.
According to a bulletin released by the government, the daily positivity rate is 0.59% and the weekly positivity rate is 0.66%. On the Vaccination front, 1,91,15,90,370 vaccine doses have been inoculated in India under the nationwide vaccination drive.
In the past 24 hours, around 4,86,969 tests were carried out. The overall number of tests conducted across the country increased to 84.34 crores, in accordance with the ICMR data.
