India Records 2,568 Fresh COVID-19 Cases, Marks Below 3000 Along With 20 Fatalities

On Tuesday, India’s daily COVID-19 count declined below the 3000 mark, as it recorded 2,568 fresh COVID-19 infections. The country maintained above 3000 cases for five consecutive days after it logged 2,927 cases last Thursday.

The overall COVID-19 infection in India reached 4,30,84,913. The active caseload in the country stands at 19,137 and constitutes 0.04% of the total cases. With 20 fresh fatalities, the COVID-19 death toll increased to 5,23,889.

The COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 98.74%. Around 2,911 recoveries were registered in the past 24 hours, pushing the total recoveries to 4,25,41,887. The government data further added that 4,19,552 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours.

The daily positivity rate stands at 0.61% and weekly positivity stands at 0.68%. Nearly, 189.41 crore vaccine doses have been inoculated as yet under the nationwide vaccination drive. More than 2.90 crore vaccine doses have been given to beneficiaries between 12-14 years of age.
