- India recorded 44,230 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed that India in the last 24 hours recorded 44,230 fresh COVID-19 cases, pushing the nationwide tally to 3,15,72,344. The number of deaths due to COVID-19 stood at 555 taking the death toll to 4,23,217.
The data revealed that the active cases of COVID-19 stood at 4,05,155. In the last 24 hours, the nation witnessed 42,360 recoveries and the National Recovery Rate improved to 1.28%. The total number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 3,07,43,972.
Nearly 18,16,277 COVID-19 tests were conducted on Thursday, taking the total number of tests so far to 46,46,50,723. Till date, India has administered 45,60,33,754 vaccines.
Reportedly, more than 28.8 million unutilized vaccines are still available with the states, UTs, and private hospitals. More than 474.8 million vaccine doses have been provided to states and UTs so far through all sources and a further 53,05,260 doses are in the pipeline.
