On Tuesday, India registered 8,865 fresh cases of COVID-19, showing a low of 287 days. Following the Union Health ministry update data, India’s current active cases stand at 1,30,793, the lowest in 525 days. Moreover, the active case constitutes 0.38 percent, which is the lowest since March 2020 when the pandemic first slammed in the country.

Meanwhile, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.27 percent. Around 11,971 people recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours. The overall recoveries count at 3,38,61,756. In the last 24 hours, 197 individuals died owing to COVID-related ailments, pushing the fatality count 4,63,852.

A decline of 3,303 COVID-19 active cases has been lodged within the last 24 hours. The concerned ministry noted that the daily rise in new infections has been below 20,000 for 39 straight days and below 50,000 daily new cases have been reported for 142 consecutive days, at present.

The daily positivity rate which stands at 0.80 percent continues to remain below 2 percent in the past 43 days. As yet, nearly 62.57 crore samples have been tested against COVID-19 and 112.97 crore vaccines have been inoculated as a shield against the disease since the drive’s launch earlier in this ongoing year.
