On Sunday, a minor decline in the number of Covid-19 cases was witnessed by India. The number of new cases on this day summed up to 14, 146, making it the lowest in the last seven months. According to the Union ministry of health and family welfare, India’s total case count at present was approximately 34,067,719.

The number of positive cases on Sunday portrayed a dip by 1,835 cases from its earlier records of 15,981 people being positive on Saturday. The number of deaths recorded on Sunday was approximately 22 lesser than the earlier records of Saturday when 166 people died of coronavirus. The number of recovered patients was 19,788, while 144 people were affected by the virus during this period. This keeps the rate of recovery to 33,419,749, while the death rate remains at 452,124.

The number of active cases on Sunday was 195,846, which was at least 5,786 less than the 200,000 mark recorded on Saturday. The recovery rate is sharpest since the month of March, with a percentage of 98.10. The health ministry has also stated that the recovery rate stands below 3 per cent and maintains a position of 1.29 per cent for the last 48 days.

The authorities have said that in the last 24 hours, more than 4.12 million doses of vaccine have been regulated. So far approximately 976,589,540 vaccine doses were regulated by the government, out of which the first dose has been received by 694,733,920 and the rest 281,855,620 were fully vaccinated.

According to the health ministry, the states and Union Territories have received 1.01 billion vaccines through the centre or state directed channels. They have further added, “More than 104.2 million balance and unutilized vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.”
