On Sunday, PM Narendra Modi greeted the commissioning of the INS Visakhapatnam by the Indian Navy. Modi in his tweet has appreciated the launch event of the indigenous warship to be a proud day for India’s quest to grow up to be Aatmanirbhar in the defence sector.
Modi has tweeted, “Today is a proud day for India’s quest to become Aatmanirbhar in the defence sector. INS Visakhapatnam is commissioned into the Indian Navy! It is indigenously developed and will strengthen our security apparatus. Our efforts towards defence modernization continue with full effort.”
The INS Visakhapatnam was launched in the Mumbai dockyard earlier on Sunday. The launch event witnessed the presence of Union defence minister Rajnath Singh. The commissioning of the INS Visakhapatnam has carved out the way for India to share a position with the elite countries of the world, in terms of combat resources.
The Submarine Vela, which is the latest construction under Project-75, is scheduled to be set forth on November 25. The latest commissioning is likely to enhance the defence capacity of India. The Indian Navy while commenting on the issue said, “This will enhance our capacity and firepower to address the threats both in the above water and underwater domains.”
