NEW DELHI: On Friday, October 16, the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr Harsh Vardhan held a virtual conference with the Heads/ Directors of the Department of Science &Technology (DST) and CSIR belonging to an autonomous institution
The Union Health Minister took to the event to discuss and evaluate the activities conducted under the PM Modi’s “Jan Andolan” initiative on Covid Appropriate Behavior which was launched earlier on August 8, this month.
Dr Harsh Vardhan pointed out the crucial stages of combatting the virus in the upcoming festive and winter season. He said, “We are now entering into the tenth month of our fight against COVID-19. It was on the 8th of January when we had our first meeting of the expert group. Since then, the journey has been relentless but today, we can proudly say that we have created a significant infrastructure for our fight against COVID-19.”
Appraising the Indian scientists and their tremendous efforts, Harsh Vardhan mentioned that 3 coronavirus vaccines have been developed that has advanced to Stage II and III clinical trials. He also expressed his empathy for the frontline health workers who lost their lives amid the pandemic.
Addressing to the Indian Audience, Health Minister Harsh Vardhan urged them to follow the Covid-19 guidelines to prevent the transmission of the virus at large. “Wearing mask/face cover especially in public spaces, and following hand and respiratory etiquettes are the cardinal principles of social vaccine,” he added.
