NEW DELHI: On Tuesday, October 27, the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) backed by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) organized a webinar between India and United Arab Emirates (UAE) hold discussions on boosting trade between the two sides.
The webinar was set with the theme of “Indian Defence Industry Global Outreach for Collaborative Partnership,” and was participated by the Defence officials of both sides. Moreover, there were above 180 participants and 100 exhibition stalls as part of the virtual meet.
Several top companies from both sides came forward and displayed presentations on areas concerning Artillery Systems, Ammunition, Coastal Surveillance System, etc. Indian companies like Bharat Forge, Ashok Leyland, Larsen & Toubro Defence, etc, also showed presentations in this virtual program.
The DIP Joint Secretary Mr. Sanjay Jaju pointed out at the PM Modi’s new initiative “Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan” (self-reliant India) and said, “we are emphasizing on openness and inter-linkages so that our companies could become a part of the global supply chains and foreign companies could have a role in Indian Defence manufacturing ecosystem.”
Both the Indian and UAE representatives acknowledged and appreciated their “deep-rooted relations” and further agreed upon cooperatively working towards the achievements of mutual interests through joint production.
