On Monday morning, the Indian army handed over the soldier of the People’s Liberation Army or PLA back to China at the Chushul-Moldo border. On January 8, the PLA soldier had been apprehended by the Indian troops in eastern Ladakh.

Reportedly, the PLA soldier had inadvertently strayed into the Indian territory, where troops from both nations are ranged against each other in the ongoing military confrontation. Commenting on the incident, the Indian Army informed that the PLA soldier had transgressed across the LAC. The same was taken into custody by the Indian troops deployed in the area, the official added.

Meanwhile in Beijing, the Chinese military informed that one of its soldiers had gone astray along with the China-India border areas. “Due to darkness and complicated geography, a soldier of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army frontier defence force went astray in the China-India border early Friday morning,” informed the Chinese Military.

Till now it is the second time that a Chinese soldier has been apprehended on the Indian side of the LAC in eastern Ladakh. In October, Corporal Wang Ya Long a PLA soldier was apprehended after he inadvertently crossed the LAC in the Demchok sector.
