INDIAN SMARTPHONE MARKET MAKES IT TO NUMBER 2, VIVO LEADES THE SHARE

NANCY JAISWAL: It’s legitimate, the Indian smartphone market has a new number two member- Vivo.
After the latest Counterpoint, Research and also the quarterly numbers of International Data Corp (IDC) unveil Vivo as the second market conqueror in the Indian smartphone industry.

As far as the premium market is concerned, the mid-range premium sector is taken by Vivo whereas Apple takes the first place
According to the IDC and Counterpoint categorization –Xiaomi leads the market in the fourth quarter of 2019, succeeded by- Vivo,  Samsung, Oppo, and Realme respectively.
Other well-known brands like- Lenovo, Motorola, LG, Google, Asus constitute less than 3%  market share in India solely, with Huawei experiencing a massive drop in the sales sector after the US Ban.

India is the second-largest mobile market in the world with more than 400 million smartphone users with China leading the number, securing the first place. The mobile market has grown rapidly due to the huge online discounts and back to back launches of better version technologies by the prime brands.
