An Indian nine-member recurve team of women archers are off to Paris to participate in the Final Qualifiers round for the Tokyo Olympic Games to be held in Paris from 17th-19th June 2021 and the World Cup Stage 3 from 20th-28th June 2021.
It comprises Deepika Kumari, Komalika Bari, Ankita Bhakat, Madhu Wedwan and Dronacharya Awardee Purnima Mahato. Meanwhile, the men’s recurve team with chiselled archers Atanu Das, Tarundeep Rai and Pravin Ramesh Jadhav have also departed for Paris to partake in the World Cup Stage-3. They had won the silver medal during the World Championship in the Netherlands.
Archers Deepika Kumari, Atanu Das, Ankita Bhakat and Komalika Bari had displayed a phenomenal show at the Stage-1 of the Archery World Cup in Guatemala. In the Women’s and Men’s Individual Recurve event, DeepikaKumari and Atanu Das won the Gold Medal in their respective categories.

It is aimed at providing Indians with a platform to showcase their talents, especially amidst these challenging times.
