On Saturday, the civilian who suffered injuries due to firing by unidentified gunmen, could only survive for several hours before dying, adding up to the list of victims in the terror attack on the city. A police officer in Srinagar has said, “His funeral has also concluded and he has been laid to rest.”
According to a police spokesperson, preliminary information has revealed that Dar was fired on by the suspected terrorists at the SD Colony in Batamaloo area of Srinagar. The firing led to critical abdominal injuries, after which he died while undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital. The spokesperson has also maintained, “police have registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of law. Investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this terror crime.”
According to sources, Dar worked for the power development department. Three hours prior to the Batamaloo shooting, the suspected terrorists fired at a local resident of Chattabal, Srinagar, named Majid Ahmad, near the Madina Complex in the Karan Nagar area of the city. Cases for both incidents were lodged by the police. The police spokesperson said, “Although the injured was immediately evacuated to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.”
