Juhi Chawla Not Paid ₹20 Lakh For 5G Case, Petition Filed

The lawyer who represented Juhi Chawla said the petition was not served with the petition copy and has also informed that the actor recently moved to a division bench of the high court regarding the case

The Delhi State Legal Services Authority has appealed the Delhi High Court against Juhi Chawla for not paying the due settlement of ₹20 lakh which was imposed on the actor and others in connection to their petition on the rollout of the 5G technology. The next hearing of the case has been scheduled for February 3.

The lawyer who represented Juhi Chawla said the petition was not served with the petition copy and has also informed that the actor recently moved to a division bench of the high court regarding the case. Now the hearing of the case will be done by a division bench on January 25.

Juhi Chawla’s civil suit against the roll-out of the 5G technology in India was dismissed by Justice JR Midha who also imposed a cost of ₹20 lakh on plaintiffs. The court had said last year that the suit appeared to be filed for publicity.

Recently the actor challenged the verdict and appealed that a single bench dismissing her suit is bad in law as a suit can only be dismissed once it has been allowed to be registered as a suit by the Court. The actor also informed that she had circulated the video-conferencing link of the high court proceedings on her social media accounts which had resulted in the repeated disruption of the Court proceedings held on June 4, 2021, which is why her plea has been called a publicity stunt.

With several other petitioners, Bollywood actor Juhi Chawla had pleaded against 5g in India. The court proceedings of the plea were done virtually due to the second wave of the covid pandemic. Juhi had shared the link of the court proceedings on her social media, and that is why it faced disruption.

After the plea was dismissed, Juhi had released a video saying that she wasn’t against the technology but wanted to seek clarification from the government on its safety.
