On Saturday, Kapil Sibal, a senior Congress leader, criticized the government led by PM Narendra Modi and said that the Centre promised to bring India on the path of development within five years, however, they did not bring any change to the country.
The senior Congress leader visited the Sabarmati Ashram and said that the Congress party is making efforts to follow the principles of Mahatma Gandhi. He added that violence was never part of statecraft when they formed government at the Centre.
Sibal mentioned the claims of the BJP of bringing India on the developmental path and said that the nation came into existence only after 2014, and all reputed institutions like IITs, and IIMs, were built by the BJP government.
Furthermore, Kapil Sibal said that the leaders who are from Gujarat might know little about Mahatma Gandhi, and he mentioned that Mahatma Gandhi has always said there is the only god and the god is the truth. He added that he wants to ask PM Narendra Modi where is the truth, and said that there are lies in words, and even in work.
Earlier, Congress leader Sibal received criticism following the resignation of Captain Amarinder Singh amid the ongoing power tussle in the party. Sibal stated that he wasn’t aware who takes the decision as the party does not have a president. Several workers from the Congress party gathered outside his house in the national capital in order to protest and damaged his car in the process.
