Kangana Ranaut will play the role of Sita in the upcoming film titled ‘Sita: The Incarnation’ directed by Alaukik Desai. The role of Sita was also offered to Kareena Kapoor Khan.
A poster of the film was shared by Kangana Ranaut on her Instagram story, and she also thanked the director for allowing her to perform in the film.
The director, Alaukik Desai, posted a tweet and said, “What was a mirage, is now clarity. A dream of a pious character never explored is now a reality.” Desai added that he is thrilled Kangana Ranaut will play the role of Sita and added that this journey will change the way how people perceive Indian mythology. He further thanked SS studio for their immense support and belief. Kangana shared a screenshot of the tweet and thanked the director for the opportunity.
Reports claimed that Kareena Kapoor Khan had demanded ₹12 crores for playing the role of Sita in the upcoming film. During an interview, Kareena said that she made what she wants quite clear, and she believes that respect should be given. The actress also said that it’s not about demanding, but about being respectful towards women, and added that she thinks things are changing.
Furthermore, Kareena said that no one would talk about a man or woman getting equal pay in a movie a few years ago, but now many actors are being vocal about it.
