The Kerala police investigated Swapna Suresh, who was the main suspect in the Kerala gold smuggling case and she was alleged as a voicemail come upon the internet. The voicemail stated that the Enforcement Directorate was forcing her to name Pinarayi Vijayan, chief minister of Kerala in the racket with inducement to make her an approver.

A web portal reported the voicemail on Thursday and it spreads like the wind. Swapna also claimed that the ED did not allow her to read the statement and forced to sign it. After the voicemail began to create a controversy, was trending, Rishiraj Singh, the Director-General of Police ordered to start an investigation over the matter.

Ajay Kumar, Deputy Inspector General of Police is probing the new growth said that the voicemail is not sent from the jail but Swapna Suresh consented that it was her voice. During the questioning session, she reportedly said that she exactly do not have an idea when she said this. Now, she is placed in Thiruvananthapuram’s women’s jail.

The state secretariat of CPI(M) announced a statement which said that the central agencies were wishing to involve the CM’s office in this case and the party will not approve the move. V Muraleedhran, minister of state for external affairs described it as a drama acted by the CM’s office. The opponent BJP and Congress stated that this voicemail is just an action to draw attention and obstruct the ongoing investigation on the gold smuggling case and want a high-level inquiry into it.

K. Surendran, BJP state president was accused two days ago as he sought the list of people who met Swapna in jail. It was reported that she is meeting with many people in jail from the day she was lodged in jail that is the second week of October. Congress unit’s chief, Mullapally Ramachandran said that as the investigation is about to reach him the CM is setting a self-goal for him.

After five days with Swapna Suresh, her collaborator Sandip Nair was also arrested by the NIA in Bengaluru where they were hiding. Sivasankar, a senior bureaucrat was suspended as he was accused of links with Swapna. The case is being investigated by five central agencies where 36 people have already been arrested.
