Today, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has expressed his concern over the rising COVID-19 cases in Kerala. Taking to his Twitter, the Wayanad MP urged the people to follow all the COVID-19 protocols. “I appeal to our brothers and sisters in the state to follow all safety measures and guidelines. Please take care,” he wrote.
As of Thursday, Kerala reported 22,064 fresh COVID-19 cases and the test positivity rate climbed to 13.53 percent. The rise in COVID-19 cases has prompted the Union government to rush a six-member central team to the state to monitor the situation.
Moreover, the state has called for a complete lockdown on July 31 and August 1. According to the data of the Ministry of Health and Family and Welfare, the state continues to have 1,50,040 active cases. However, 31,60,804 people have also recovered from the disease.
