International media is flooded with speculation or intense speculation over Kim Jong Un’s health though this is not for the first time. It happened before and later dismissed. Kim Jong is “close to demise”, “grave danger after surgery”, “brain dead” or “corona virus-infected” – maybe the headlines but that is impossible to verify. The presidential office of South Korea denied that Kim Jong Un is seriously ill. But Daily NK claimed that Kim has not been seen in public for 10 days and a Seoul-based website reported that the North Korean leader had undergone heart surgery.
Kim who is in his mid-30s was last seen in public on 11th April 2020 when he presided over a meeting and elected his sister as an alternate member of the political bureau of the ruling worker’s party as official Korean central news agency. But he missed NK test missile firings on April 14th, according to an online newspaper Daily NK, he also missed the ‘Day of the Sun’ celebration of his grandfather and the country’s founder, Kim IL Sung on April 15th, country’s most important holiday.
Daily NK which is mostly run by the North Korean defectors, first claimed on Kim Jong’s ill health through their claim yet not confirmed Fox News has learned from sources, “US has extensive contingency plans in case of Kim Jong Un’s eventual death”.
