Samajwadi Party MP, Jaya Bachchan is in West Bengal, campaigning for Mamata Banerjee’s party during the ongoing assembly elections in the state, saying that the latter is fighting for the democratic rights of the people of Bengal.
While campaigning the veteran actor backed Mamata and said, “Mamata is fighting all alone against the atrocities, and for the democratic rights of the people of Bengal. Her leg is broken, but she is still fighting”.
Jaya Bachchan on Monday campaigned for the three times MLA from Tallygunje, Arup Biswas who is defending his seat against BJP candidate Babul Supriyo. Bachchan is supporting TMC on the grounds that she was instructed by her party chief Akhilesh Yadav who has been against BJP after being defeated in Uttar Pradesh.
She is campaigning for TMC as Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav told that his party will campaign for Mamata Banerjee. This is after he accused BJP is spreading politics of hate, confusion and propaganda.
West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee in a letter to 10 opposing parties including Akhilesh Yadav, mentioned the need to stay together for a united and effective struggle against the BJP’s attack on democracy and constitution.
