On Tuesday, Social Justice Minister of Maharashtra, Dhananjay Munde was accused by a woman of rape. The NCP leader denied the allegation stating that he was in an extra-marital relationship with the woman’s elder sister and had two children by her but was being blackmailed by the duo.
At the Oshiwara police station in Mumbai’s western suburbs the accuser’s complaint against Munde was lodged. As per the lodged complaint, is said that Munde has been harassing her sexually since 2006. Till now no FIR has been filed. As per a senior police official, a complaint has been lodged by the woman and one of Munde’s relatives have been entrusted to a woman assistant commissioner of police for investigation.
The complaint demanded Munde to be booked for rape as he has been harassing her sexually. In a rebuttal, the relative of Munde in the complaint stated that the sister and brother of the victim are blackmailing him.
Nawab Malik, NCP Spokesperson added that since the aggrieved woman filed a complaint, NCP will be waiting for the outcome of the investigation. Munde denied the allegations stating that they were ‘baseless and false’ and is an attempt to defame and tarnish his image as he is in politics. He said, “The complainant is the younger sister of a woman, with whom I have been in a relationship since 2003.
Munde said his family is fully aware of the situation. He added his wife and friends are fully aware of his domestic relationship with the woman and that he has two children, a boy and a girl with that relationship. He further added that he gave names to both the children, even in their school records that he is their father. Munde added that the other woman and the children have been accepted by his family and he has given a tenement and life insurance policies in their name.
The Social justice Minister said that the woman began defaming him on social media and he had approached Bombay high Court, which restrained her from publishing material or pictures against him on social media. He added that they have approached the High Court, explained the situation and is in the process of reaching a settlement. Further he said he cannot comment as the entire case is sub Judice.
