The Indian legendary batsman, Sachin Tendulkar turned 48 years old today. However, the COVID-19 situation prevailing in the country has dampened his plans as he has decided not to celebrate his birthday.
Though he is not celebrating his birthday but it has not stopped his well-wishers and fans from sending him birthday wishes. Several cricketers such as Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, and others have wished him through their Twitter account.
Raina wrote a heart-warming message for the cricketer by terming Tendulkar as an ‘absolute legend of cricket’. “Your passion towards cricket made us love the game and gave a lifetime memory,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, the BCCI along with their tweet shared a video where one can witness how Sachin became the first batsman to score an ODI double ton.
History unfolds that Tendulkar remains one of the best batsmen to have ever graced the cricket field. Known as the ‘God of Cricket’, Tendulkar’s 24-year long Cricket career has been no less than an inspiration with multiple achievements. He also received the Bharat Ratna award in 2013.
The right-handed batsman who donned the No. 10 jerseys in ODIs was born on April 24, 1973. He took up cricket as his passion at the age of 11. His breakthrough into the cricket world was at the age of 16 when he made his first Test debut against Pakistan in Karachi. From then, there was no turn back. In 2013, he retired and bid adieu to his cricket career.
Speaking of the ODI, he had amassed 18,426 runs, most by any batsman so far. In Test cricket, he scored 15,921 runs. Sachin was also the first batsman to score 100 international centuries. In February 2010, he was the first batsman to score 200 runs in an ODI inning.
