Jammu: On Friday, under the Public Safety Act, the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti got an extension in her detention for the next three months by the Jammu and Kashmir administration. Last year in August, she was among the group of people who were taken into preventive custody hours before the Central Government revoked the special status of J&K, breaking the state into two union territories.
One year will be completed on August 5 when Mufti was detained that will be expired soon this year. But the Home Department has issued an order wherein she has to continue with her detention for the next three months at her official residence. The residence is at Fairview Bungalow that is announced as a subsidiary jail.
However, Farooq Abdullah, his son Omar Abdullah and other mainstream politicians were released from the custody but it seems the former CM, Mehnooba Mufti still has to wait for her release orders.
