The Union Cabinet, under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and France in the field of Renewable Energy Cooperation. This year, in January 2021, MoU was signed between India and France. 

The MoU aims to establish the basis for the promotion of bilateral cooperation in the field of renewable energy based on mutual benefits, equity, and reciprocity. It covers technologies relating to solar, wind, and hydrogen, and biomass energy. 

The MoU between France and India entails the exchange and training of scientific and technical personnel: exchange of scientific and technological information and data; organization of workshops and seminars; transfer of equipment, know-how, and technology; and development of joint research and technological projects. The MoU will be helping in the development of technological know-how in the Renewable and Energy field. 

This MoU will help in the development of technological know-how in the field of Renewable Energy and thereby aid the process of attaining the ambitious target of 450 GW of installed Renewable Energy capacity by 2030 and help in the process of attaining the ambitious goal of 450 GW of installed Renewable Energy. 

Apart from the MoU with France, the Union Cabinet has also given approval to the MoU between India and Fiji for cooperation in the field of Agriculture and Allied Fields.
