Today, on the first day of the Monsoon Session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his dissatisfaction over the behaviour of the Opposition meted out towards his new Cabinet in the Rajya Sabha. “Some people don’t want ministers to be introduced,” he said following a ruckus by the Opposition.
Addressing the Rajya Sabha, PM Modi lauded his Cabinet and highlighted that most of the Ministers came from a rural background and ordinary families. However, he stated that the idea was not much welcomed by the Opposition who criticized his Cabinet. “Some people are pained at seeing that children of farmers have become ministers today,” he said.
Appreciating the female Ministers in his Cabinet, he slammed the Opposition who have an ‘anti-woman mindset’. “The Opposition has an anti-woman mindset since they do not want women ministers to be introduced to the House,” he added. Referring to the incident, he mentioned that such a negative mindset was never witnessed in Parliament.
PM Modi questioned, “What sort of hatred do some people have for Adivasis/Dalits that they cannot allow the introduction of ministers from such communities in this House?”
Criticizing the Opposition for not allowing the Prime Minister to introduce the new ministers, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said such a thing was happening for the first time in his 24 years of parliamentary career.
