On Monday, a Mumbai court issued a bailable warrant against Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut as she failed to appear before the court in connection with lyricist Javed Akhtar’s defamation complaint filed against her.

On 1st February, the magistrate’s court of Andheri metropolitan issued a summons to Ranaut, which directed her to appear before it on 1st March. However, on Monday Ranaut failed to appear before the court and for that, it issued a bailable warrant against her. For further hearing, the court posted the matter on 22nd March.

The police last month submitted a report that a defamation case was filed against the actor. Against Ranaut, Akhtar had filed the complaint about allegedly making false and baseless statements against him which, as per him, damaged his reputation.
